I'm an aspiring writer, adventure seeker, and active lady who loves coffee, dogs, friends, family and appreciating life's small wonders.
I love connecting with others through writing and have been a part of the blogging community for over seven years. Some of my closest and most influential friends are people I've never met! I was born and raised in New York, but have lived in Texas since 2004, so I understand and appreciate the twists and turns our lives can take, and the beauty that can be found in the unfamiliar and unexpected. I'm also one of the most optimistic people you'll ever meet, and truly believe that a good attitude and a positive outlook are key to a happy and fulfilling life. (The other key is a loyal dog, preferably from a shelter - I have two!)
There are a few ways I maintain a good mood. The first is regular exercise - my favorite is a long run in the morning, before the rest of the world has woken up, when I can be alone with my thoughts. I work a desk job that can tedious, but meeting my girlfriends for a sushi date at lunch rejuvenates me and makes the afternoon breeze by, as does a weekend camping with my boyfriend and our dogs. My best advice is to be compassionate - so many of our daily annoyances come from other people (bad drivers, slow service, inconsiderate clients). If you take a moment to replace your annoyance with compassion, and recognize that everyone you meet is fighting their own personal battle, you'll feel your good mood rise up to greet the world no matter what.
How often do you do things outside of your comfort zone?
