Why are you perfect for this job?
I’m perfect for the Contract Blogger Job because it’s a copacetic, natural, professional fit with the way I live life and my natural and learned skills, talents, and professional abilities. My Guiding Principle: lookin' for the good.
*focusing on the positive
*looking for the good
*getting knocked down but getting back up
*planting daily seeds of Happiness and Courage
*being a connector and helping people get what they want
*encouraging people to GO FOR IT
*I Jump For Joy (as in my photo) and get other people to jump, too (see below about mood)
*finding ways to keep myself moving with the good foot
*sharing resources
*variety of daily writing
*I polled friends and colleagues for a new tag line for my business newsletter that best represents me as a person. They chose “Happiness Lives Here” and it does!
*I know what it’s like to keep Gratitude notes and how on the most excruciating of days it can feel as if I have a bulldozer digging dang near to China looking for enough just to fill my coffee cup
*I’m from Seattle and have learned to connect with the “eternal sunshine above the clouds”
*I like to network and connect
*Earlier than most I learned to read and write and I've never stopped
*Making people laugh makes me laugh *I’m dependable and disciplined, resourceful and organized, and have been self-employed most of my life. I know what it takes and how to do it
*Social media is my playground but I keep it real (responsible) with business
*Leaving a legacy and doing purposeful work with passion is where I’m going, and I’d love your company!
*THANK YOU for your vote. Voting for me is a vote for The Good because we're all in this together
How do you maintain your good mood naturally?
My first line of defense: LAUGHTER. I laugh. A lot. Anywhere. Anyhow. I’m not above tickling or too proud to call someone and say, “Tell me something funny, make me laugh, HARD!” Guiding Principle: If things are getting you down turn on the comedy channel, go on a bender of films that will make you LOL, or hook up with that awesomesauce girl or guy friend … you know … the one who makes your stomach hurt from laughing so hard.
I love to DANCE. I dance at home, I dance at clubs, I’ll dance in a parking lot if I hear good music blasting from somebody’s car, I’ll dance alone, or with my favorite dance partner, or with a group. I may have been a dancing fool before Ellen!
I "Jump For Joy" literally! I started getting photos of myself jumping at places where I'm having fun or wanting to have some fun.
My earliest memories confirm that I’ve always been active and a water person -- salt water or fresh, ocean, river, stream, lake, even a bath tub -- I keep myself in or around water and I keep moving. When it’s time to decompress or I need a lift, I like to go boating, or for a splash, walk, sprint, sit, or bike ride around water. I’m conscious about keeping my lifestyle parallel with my heart, so it’s a blessing that I live where I can see and smell salt water. Guiding Principle: Surround yourself with big and little things that you like and love, with whatever turns you on.
I take various amounts of time for meditations, stillness, internal integration, and simple quiet thought throughout the day wherever I am, sometimes for just a couple minutes at a time. Guiding Principle: When you’re busy and have a lot going on, a couple minutes of emotional rest or mental organization can keep things straight.
I have some of the most quality friends a person could have. My friends are younger, older, of various ethnicities and multi-cultured. One thing they have in common is unique humor. Guiding Principle: Having terrific people around you is essential. If they’re fabulous AND can make you laugh, hook up often.
I have pets and when I come home my dogs are so excited to see me that they sometimes topple over from wiggling so hard. Guiding Principle: Animals lower blood pressure, they make you laugh, and they’re fabulous *Happiness* coaches.
Throughout the day I write down what I’m thank-full for, happy about, or something I heard that made me laugh or smile. Nothing fancy or formal, just little notes.
I read and stay creatively expressive (I'm learning sew and oil paint now).
I follow the edict “Ask and ye shall receive.” If I want something, I ask for it. Of course I don’t always get what I ask for but when I do I’m often in a good mood (however there are times when I get what I asked for then wished I hadn’t but that comes with the territory).
I LOVE to drive and I LOVE adventure. Hitting the road with my purse, camera, and Moleskine in a direction with no particular destination in mind makes me feel gooooooooooooooooooooooooooooood.
I practice clear communication. It’s easier to be in a good mood when you’re being yourself. Honesty or directness delivered with heart and compassion can be more productive for everybody than doing the bush dance.
Mostly and finally, life happens but I was blessed with an innate pulse that just keeps me lookin’ for the good. And so I do. And the good I find is the good I can share.
THANK YOU for your vote. Voting for me is a vote for The Good because we're all in this together.
