“Everyone has a story.”
This grade-school thought motivated me to spend my life exploring others’ stories and writing an interesting one of my own. I passionately studied and practiced writing, eventually earning a journalism degree.
Since then, I’ve had my pieces published in newspapers, scientific journals, and a magazine. I’ve also co-authored a book chapter.
But my real love is blogging because I can push “publish” and immediately connect with someone else.

Why are you perfect for this job?
I do not wake up happy every day, but I make a choice every day to find joy. I am a real person pursuing happiness, and I am willing to share that pursuit with others. This qualifies me as a person pursuing "a good mood."
I am also qualified to write. I have a BA in Journalism and Mass Communications, and am currently obtaining my Master's in Public Health with an emphasis on behavioral health. I study behavior and behavior change every day, and will be able to use my knowledge to help others pursue better moods and emotional health.
Additionally, I am qualified to blog. One year ago, I began a successful blog which has since received over 55,000 pageviews. My blog is all about my quest for happiness, health, and a richer understanding of who I am as a person. The "Good Mood Gig" position would give me a better platform from which I could motivate others to know themselves better and achieve health and happiness in the process.
How do you maintain your good mood naturally?
My greatest key to maintaining a good mood is a sense of humor. This is an inheritance from my family, a totally wacked-out group of individuals whom I love dearly. Whenever my mom got overwhelmed with the needs of five kids, two dogs, and a husband, she would just laugh. I always loved that, and it's something I find myself repeating now. My husband hopes I won't repeat the five kids though!
I also try to "groove my body" every day (I don't call it exercise!) and enjoy treating myself to iced lattes, walks in the Florida sunshine, and play time with my puppy, who explores the world with an enthusiasm I try to mimic.
Whenever I feel overwhelmed, I go for a walk by the water. Its magnitude puts my problems into perspective.
