Q: My 17 year old daughter can't swallow pills, can I crush SAM-e?
I am so happy you wrote to us! We really do not recommend cutting or crushing SAM-e Complete. SAM-e Complete is enteric coated for optimal absorption. Crushing SAM-e may decrease the amount that is absorbed by the body, making it so very little SAM-e is actually utilized by the body. We do have two sizes of SAM-e Complete both 200mg and 400mg tablets. The 200mg tablets are smaller and may be easier to swallow. I recommend seeking the advice of your daughter's health care professional for advice if she is not able to swallow the smaller SAM-e tablet.
