Why does SAM-e cause increased sedation when I take it.
Although increased sedation is an unusual side-effect, "tiredness" has been reported, particularly in individuals with depression. SAM-e is involved in over 100 biochemical reactions and therefore can have varying effects on different individuals. For example, deficiencies in folate, B 12 or B 6 may affect the how SAM-e is utilized in the body and ultimately influence the side effects an individual is experiencing.
