7 (More) Tips to Immediately Improve your Mood
A few months ago, I gave you a list of 7 things you can do to immediately improve your mood. (Ok, so it actually ended up being 6. Thanks for pointing that out in the comments!) Since so many people responded in the comments section that they enjoyed these tips, I thought I’d find a few more.
Hopefully you’ll find these tips for putting you in a great mood as helpful as I did.
- Write Down 5 Things You Love About Your Life – When you’re feeling down, it’s easy to think about all the things in your life that bring you down. So next time you’re feeling down, take a pen and piece of paper and write out 5 things you love about your life. These could be something as simple as the way your hair curls just the right way some days, just so long as you love it. - Get a Massage – It’s nice to treat yourself every once in a while, and one great way to pamper yourself is by getting a really good massage. While this can potentially be an expensive undertaking, it is totally worth it. If you don’t want to shell out the extra dough for a masseuse, have your spouse or a friend help get those knots out. Massage is not only relaxing, but it can really lower stress levels. For more information about the benefits of massage, Massage Therapy has some helpful words.
- Get Some Comedy – There’s really nothing better than laughing your head off to get you out of a bad mood. Chances are likely that there are local venues where you can go see live comedy in your area, with options like open-mic stand up comedy as well as sketch or improv shows. These can be a real riot, and something about seeing live comedy in a room full of other people laughing hysterically is certainly an infectious pick-me-up. One of my personal favorite shows to watch is ComedySportz, which has franchises all over the U.S.
Hopefully, these tips will be a pleasant addition to the other ways I’ve found that are helpful when it comes to finding a good mood naturally.
