A Little Vocabulary Quiz
Next time you feel like doing something nice for yourself, I suggest that you write a short definition of the word "hope" and post it somewhere you'll see often. It may surprise you when you start to write: you may not know how you feel about hope. And your definition of hope will says so much about you. No pressure. Just write it.
Philosophers and theologians can have a hayday with trying to define the exact meaning of the word hope and the power of the idea of it, but it's how you define the word that will define you.
Is your definition a noun or a verb? Is it a soft, comforting thing or something that drives you?
Hope is not the same thing as positive thinking. In Greek mythology, when Pandora opened Pandora's box she let out all the evils except one thing- which was hope. Perhaps because hope was thought of as the evil that stopped man from wanting to end his own life, so it basically acted to the prolong suffering.
It takes a pretty dismal view of life to think of hope in that way; to be angry at a thing that prevents you from giving up ... but maybe that rings true in a tiny way for you. Maybe you've even been avoiding hope because you resent it a little. Maybe it's time you make up, because it's a shame to go through life being in a fight with something so powerful as hope.
Hope, according to you, should be at the very least something that you like. And hopefully your definition of hope is something that has incredible power to change your life for the better.

Hope is that little voice in your head that tells you something really stupid is a good idea. Sometimes it's right, most of the time it's wrong.

hope is what was seen on the other side of the fence behind the barbed wire..... for hope in truth cannot exist behind fear......
from where i'm standing now -there is only success. i gained this realization the moment i ceased all hope and did what must be done to get where i am now -which is living life with the past well behind me where dreams became realized through the deliberate choice to go beyond hope.
and those of us who are here are making our resolve to fulfill the vision that is before us -totally with commitment.. impeccably and with perfect integrity acknowledging it's grace with humility and reverence. hope was the seed of courage that grew into an all consuming fire that is peace in effect being only love itself dancing with joy in our heart as one.
i dare you all to live your dreams without compromise -join us and be among the living.. does it feel good enough -real enough -sacred enough? do you feel me?
then i double dare you. :) it's your move. the call of the wild is simply undeniable..
be free...... walk with me authentically through eternity.

Hope is being sure of what we long for and certain of what we do not see.
