An Italy Photo Blog

One of my coworkers recently got married, and went to Italy on her honeymoon. Here are some of her photos from this charming and romantic locale.

We went to three areas. Tuscany, Florence (Firenze as the Italians call it!) and Sorrento. We went in the fall, so temperatures were in the low 70s for the high and low 60s for the low.

Our first stop was Lupaia, a quaint bed and breakfast in Tuscany. It had a picturesque view of the rolling Tuscan countryside.
We stumbled across the beautiful Church di San Biagio on our way to the nearby Tuscan town of Montepulciano. The church is at the base of the town, which allows for a breathtaking view of the city.
The rolling hills stretched as far as we could see. This made for an enjoyable car ride to each of the towns we visited.
Next we traveled to Florence, where we staying right in the middle of town. Below is a picture we took of the view from our hotel restaurant. The Duomo, also known as the Dome of the Florence Cathedral shines in the background.
Here's a view from the Ponte Vecchio, which translates “old bridge.” The medieval bridge is known for the shops and restaurants built along it. It also provides a good view of the Arno River.
Our last stop was southern Italy, which we got to by train. On our first day, we visited Positano, a town known for its stacked buildings. Due to space constraints, one windy road connects each layer of architecture in this picture.
Here’s a similar view from Positano showing the brightly colored stacked buildings.
On our last full day, we ferried over to the island of Capri. We took a cable car ride to the highest point on the island. Enjoy the view!

Italy looks like an amazing destination! What are some places you'd love to see?
