Bird Watching and Other Quiet Activities
Activities might imply an "active" experience, but at the same time, there are plenty of "quieter" options of ways you can spend your time, especially when you are going it alone. Bird watching, kayaking and even knitting are activities you can take up on your own.
Bird Watching – Whether it’s in your own backyard or at a national park, you can spend some quiet time by yourself to appreciate the wildlife that thrives in the sky. Birds of all different sizes and colors are bountiful in just about every part of the country; you just have to look for them. To attract birds to your own yard, try building a birdfeeder or a birdbath. Not only is the activity of bird watching itself fun and relaxing, but the process it takes to build a sanctuary for them can be equally as rewarding an experience.
Kayaking / Canoeing – Though it is a little bit more of a strenuous activity, kayaking is nonetheless a relaxing and solitary experience that can rejuvenate you and get you back in touch with nature. Learning to kayak is a great skill to learn, and even novice river farers can pick it up rather easily. Paddling down the river can be as exciting or relaxing as you want it to be, so take a trip by yourself or call some friends and family to make it a group excursion.
Knitting – Though they have never been something I’ve been terribly skilled at doing, knitting and crocheting have always been activities that are adored by the people who do them. You can tell by all the clever and informative knitting blogs that exist. Besides being relaxing and something you can do just about everywhere, you’ll have something to show for your efforts. Imagine all the wonderful gifts you can give to friends during the holidays: hats, scarves, sweaters and more!
All these activities are things you can do by yourself and can be considered “quiet” ways to spend your time and get into a great mood simultaneously! What are some of your favorite good mood quiet time activities?

A good article! I have taken Sam-e to help me through some tough emotions. I took it for a month and that did the trick. I felt it's help from day 1.
