Dance Videos for Normal People
I'm convinced that dancing is as good for my brain as it is for my body - sometimes I just need an excuse to flail around and relieve stress. Something about setting all that flailing around to music makes it magic! But the fastest way to kill the mood when you're out dancing is to see your reflection in a dance floor mirror and try to decide if you look cool. Because unless you're a professional dancer, you don't. And that's normal. However, here's a collection of dance music videos that will make you confident in your normal-person dance skills like never before.
This video makes me want to dress all my friends in solid colors and shoot a music video. Maybe minus the sequin jumper.
Another great example of dancing that makes you want to re-create it is Ok Go's video for "Here It Goes Again" - which is the famous treadmill song. There's also a high-school talent contest rendition of the video (you can watch that here) is almost as good as the original.
This next video was a skit planned as a surprise for guests during a real-life wedding procession. I love the looks on some of guest's faces in the pews as they try to comprehend what's going on - they morph from looks of confusion to disgust to being genuinely touched.
The movie Napoleon Dynamite had one of the ultimate normal-people dance scenes. I'm not sure how well this clip will play out of context for people that have never seen the movie. I swear, he's adorable, not creepy.
I feel like there must be a bunch more videos like these that I've never seen. Any suggestions for me to check out?

One that always puts a smile on my face is the "I'd Rather Dance with You" video by Kings of Convenience: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=C9r9sQ6PHOM

That last one reminds me a little of the famous "Evolution of Dance" video on YouTube.
I took ballroom dance lessons for a few years. Now it's nice to be able to go to a wedding or other event, and have the confidence that I know what I'm doing. It didn't take long (maybe 10 private lessons) to get to know more dancing than the average wedding-goer.
I recommend renting the 1990s movie "Strictly Ballroom" if you get a chance to see it. My ballroom dance studio once went to go see it as a field trip.

OK Go made another video with a Rube Goldberg machine. The only other ones that I know, are so popular on youtube there's probably no point in mentioning them.

OK, Brigitte, if you think the Napoleon Dynamite is cute you should watch this young boy (Andrew)recreate the dance for his school. Talk about being "confident in your normal-person dance skills"
