Every Day Is A New Beginning

“Nobody can go back and start a new beginning, but anyone can start today and make a new ending.” ~Maria Robinson

Watching my son play is such a pleasure. Being a very busy, active and curious little one-year old, he gets himself into a lot of situations of minor accidents. No matter how bad he hurts himself, he’ll cry for a few minutes, and before you know it, he’ll forget about it and move on to play with the next thing that attracts his attention.

Babies are so beautiful in this way—they live completely in the moment. Once a moment has passed, they don’t dwell on it, they just move on to what is happening right then without remorse or regret or guilt or resentment or self-pity.

We should learn from babies and children. They are great teachers to bring us back to what matters—this moment is all that we have, so enjoy it fully.

Regardless of what happened to us yesterday, or last month, or last decade-- today is a new day. Today is an opportunity to wipe the slate clean, and to redirect the sail of our ship towards a brighter tomorrow.

What’s past is in the past. Leave it there. Drop the baggage, the stories, the problems, and start today to look for solutions, to look for happiness, to look for blessings in disguise in the ordinary events and interactions of everyday life.

It’s simpler than we think.

Just see for yourself.

What happy ending would you like to see in your life?
