Fast Forward, Slow Motion
It's everywhere… in nature documentaries and music videos and films, directors use time lapse and slow motion to pull an emotional response and a sense of awe from us. Simply put, seeing things sped up or slowed down gives a sense of perspective we cannot argue with and there's something comforting about that.

I will never get tired of watching time lapse footage of seeds sprouting, wobbling and swaying toward the sun, getting more steady on their stems every day.
And why does seeing something as basic as a popping water balloon become a solemn and almost emotional experience when you watch it in super slow motion? But it does.
I do a little trick sometimes in my mind… if I'm going through something tough, I tell myself this will be one of the fast forward parts later. I think of difficult times as footage meant for a beautiful time lapse, with clouds churning along in the sky over my head in ever-changing shapes, and occasionally sunset colors passing over my face though I'm not aware of it. And hours and days pass while I am oblivious to the order and beauty of the big picture, my head wrapped up in dealing with what I've got to deal with.
I know it sounds a bit artsy-fartsy but it really does help me deal with tough situations, you should try it! And when something wonderful happens, time slows down. Way down. And you hold your breath and soak up every detail, knowing THIS IS BEAUTIFUL. Like a water balloon ; )

this is considerably true.. since all the visible signs are in fact parallel to the growth beneath the surface.....
like watching paint dry on a canvas or dough rising in a pan.
there is more to existence than meets the eye or the ear for that matter..
the fierce intensity of rush does not favor nor savor the delicate detail and nuance that may have been taken for granted and often missed as a loss.
life can be paradoxical and in direct contrast to the absurdity of our ego.
in retrospect we do in fact seldom realize that the shift in consciousness however erratic was fated and can be reprieved, resolved and acknowledged as a lapse in a moment of weakness with no regret.
remembering that every genuine discovery is spontaneous.
sleep on it. :)
and dream of love under the stars
pick a song to gently lull you into slumber
something like moon river.. :)

I love the slow motion water balloon popping. And the fast forward of a hole in the ground quickly becoming a skyscraper.

"this will be one of the fast forward parts later" I love it! I could just picture all the clouds moving above my head in rapid succession as I accomplish that thing I'm trying to accomplish. Thanks for the movie like visual of my life right now. :)

Hello,Brigitte.
"This is beautiful, like a water balloon.." Yes, I get that feeling, about balloons, until someone throws one at me,and I get wet. I have to make THAT moment a "fast forward " moment.
