Ladies and Gentlemen, Meet the New Good Mood Blogger!
Nature Made SAM-e Complete® is proud to announce that the winner of the Good Mood Gig is Brigitte Dale! We’re excited to have Brigitte join the SAM-e Complete® team, and we can’t wait for her to start sharing her good mood with you. It was a tough race to the finish line, and our judges had their work cut out for them. Thank you to everyone who applied for the Good Mood Gig, and hats off to everyone who voted, commented, and shared their support for their favorite candidate. I had the opportunity to ask Brigitte a few questions about her upcoming gig, and I could tell right away that her good mood is certainly contagious.
Nature Made Lisa: So, how excited ARE you?
Brigitte Dale: I'm excited beyond words! I've been steadily building excitement about this talent search since it first started back in October, so by the time the second phase of voting ended, I could hardly wait to hear the outcome. It feels unbelievably great to be named the winner!
NML: How did you first find out about the talent search?
BD: My sister sent me a link to the gig and suggested that I apply, so I have her to thank for this!
NML: We asked our readers this question, and we hope you’ll give us your answer, too. What’s your recipe for a good mood?
BD: For me, the key ingredients for a good mood are exercise, fresh air and good, healthy food. I also need to add perspective by focusing on the positives in my life and letting go of things that are not in my control. Setting goals and making positive plans for the future also help me stay motivated when I'm feeling discouraged.
NML: Is there anything you’d like to say to your fans and the folks who voted for you?
BD: Thank you, thank you, thank you! I've said this before, but it's so true: There's an amazingly interesting, talented, creative bunch of people that follow my blog. So many of them are doing really incredible projects of their own, and it was both flattering and humbling to see how strongly they supported me in this. It really meant a lot to me.
NML: What was your plan for getting votes?
BD: I knew that Phase 2 of voting would be intense because I was up against some really tough competition. But, I didn't want to exhaust people by constantly hounding them for votes. So I asked for suggestions on Twitter of ways I could encourage people to vote in a fun way, and several people suggested that I post a daily video blog during the voting period. So I came up with my "20 Seconds for 20 Days" daily video campaign. The daily videos, plus email reminders to friends and followers, plus support from some wonderful friends in the online space, all added up to win the vote!
NML: Do you have any plans for spending the $30,000?
BD: Is it boring if I say bills? Because that is where most of the money will go. But the wonderful thing about spending this money on bills is that it means I'm also buying myself some flexibility. I'm excited about the freedom that this job will give me to work on creative projects that I've been wanting to devote some time to for a long time now.
NML: What are you most excited about now that you’re officially the Good Mood Blogger?
BD: I'm excited to write every day! I'm excited to have a daily schedule that involves brainstorming about my newest blog post at coffee shops and bookstores! I'm also excited about the subject matter I'll be writing about and new audience that I'll be reaching. I think this job will be really good for me, and not just in a monetary way. ;)
NML: What kind of mood are you in now?
BD: I just found out that I am the Good Mood Blogger, and I'm about to go home for the holidays. I could not be happier!
NML: You maintained a very positive attitude and lots of energy during the talent search. What’s your secret?
BD: The positive energy and excitement of the people who were supporting me was infectious. I tried to just enjoy the momentum and excitement of the contest in the moment, knowing this was a once-in-a lifetime kind of experience. Thank you so much!
