Good Mood Gadgets
The holidays might be over, but 2010 is here, and technology has brought us some gadgets and gizmos that will make your jaw drop in amazement. There might not be any flying cars or hover boards yet, but that doesn’t mean the future isn’t already here. I’m by no means a tech-whiz or gizmo geek, but I am always impressed when I see what new toys technology brings us year after year. Sometimes all it takes for a guy to get in a great mood is by giving him something new and shiny with buttons. There are some gadgets out there that will make you smile for sure, so I thought I’d share some of them with you.
- Robot Hummingbird – Like something out of a Sci-Fi flick, this tiny robot is not only cute, but has heroic properties as well. Developers at the Japanese Chiba University created this cute, futuristic critter as a way to help search for people in dangerous situations such as disaster areas or hard to access areas in the wild. The bird weighs less than an ounce and can fly in several directions, all controlled by an infrared sensor.
- Snofling – When it snows, something instinctual in us makes us want to ball up a handful of the cold stuff and toss it at a friend or tree. If you live in an area with a climate that necessitates more than the occasional snowball fight, then you might need the Snofling. This handy device creates snowballs and helps you fling them without getting your hands cold.
- Pingo, the Desktop Penguin – This cute fella is a fun way to interact with your online activities on your physical desktop. Pingo acts as an alert system to let you know when you’ve got new friend requests on Facebook, for example, by singing and dancing. He can also read your status updates and RSS news out loud. What’s more is that he acts as a friendly little pet that only eats virtual food, but sings and dances the way a real penguin should.
- Pet’s Eye View Digital Camera – As long as we’re talking about pets and technology working together, here’s a neat device that will allow you to see the world as your pup sees it. Just hook on the camera to his collar and it will take a picture every 1, 5, or 15 minutes. Now you’ll know for sure what that rascal is getting into while you’re at work.
- Bamboo Fountain – If you want the tranquility of the Orient right on your desktop, then you’ll love this Zen inducing USB fountain. The running water will soothe you and the peaceful colors will delight you.
- Aqua Notes – Ever have that moment of inspiration first thing in the morning? What if you’re in the shower and you can’t write it down? By the time you’re out and dried off, your mind is already on breakfast and the epiphany is gone. That won’t be a problem any more with Aqua Notes. A pencil and paper that will stay dry even in the shower. Why has it taken so long for someone to think of this?
With so many advances in technology, these good mood gadgets are only the beginning. Is there a gizmo in your life that you can’t imagine living without? Let us know in the comments section.
