Good Mood News – December
Time for another edition of the Good Mood News! Here are a few stories that will be sure to put a smile on your face.

Good Samaritans – While three Street and Sanitation workers were hanging Christmas lights in downtown Crawfordsville, Indiana they discovered an envelope lying in the middle of a busy street. It was filled with a stack of hundred-dollar bills. There was no address, just a few names scribbled on the outside. They traced one of them to a local missionary, Carolyn Truax, who didn’t even know the money was missing. It was going to be used towards mission work to help the less fortunate. The kind workers who returned it said no amount of money would be better than the smile they saw on Carolyn’s face.
World’s Smallest Hotel Gets Renovated – In the German town of Amberg, there is a house only 8-feet wide that is the World’s Smallest Hotel. Although it’s very small, it has a lot of heart. During the early 1700s, a couple could only get married if they owned a house, preventing the poor from ever tying the knot. An entrepreneur saw a great opportunity, and built the small house so that anyone could own it long enough to get married and then sell it to another couple. With the house contributing to a different couple getting married every few weeks, it became known as “The Wedding House.” Almost 300 years old, the house needed a little TLC and has been newly renovated and is now welcoming guests to experience its romantic history.
Run, Santa! Run! – In Berwick, PA, runners stripped down to bikinis, Speedos, and Santa beards to raise money for breast cancer research. They braved the cold weather and possible embarrassment for a mile-long fun run. This is the second annual “Speedo Run for the Cause.” Last year’s run raised almost $13,000. Breast cancer survivor and runner Danielle Busch said, “All those people who went out and did stuff like this is the reason I’m still alive. So if I can freeze my butt off, run a mile and be humiliated in a bikini, then it’s worth it.”
