More Good Mood News – September

Time for another edition of the Good Mood News! Here are a few stories that will be sure to put a smile on your face.

Hero Dog Helps Owner – An 11-year old dachshund named Missy came to the aide of her collapsed owner when she scampered next door, not leaving until the neighbor followed her home. The neighbor eventually followed the dog back across the street to discover Missy’s owner in need of help, which was able to be fast on its way thanks to the canine companion’s quick thinking and loyalty.

8-Year-Old Mini-Monet Wows With Amazing Art – Kieran Williamson’s work is more than worthy of being hung on the refrigerator, it is more likely to be seen at a museum. The youngster, at only 8, impresses onlookers everywhere with her amazing brushstrokes and raw talent. Buyers purchased 33 of her artworks recently, the total cost of which exceeded $250,000.

Lottery Winner Keeps His Day Job – After driving a bus for 17 years, a 46-year-old man plans to keep his route even after winning big bucks in the lotto. The UK man played regular numbers, all of which came up one night, winning him £2.3m (about $3.6m US). The man claimed that he would use the money to take a vacation with his long time partner, buy his mother a new place to live, and a pony for his 14-year old daughter. He plans to remain behind the wheel, despite his winnings, though. ''I don't want to pack my job in. I asked my boss for time off, a month maybe two, but I don't want to cut myself off from my friends and I really enjoy my job," he said.

Healthy Hero Inspires Kids – Rosalie Mangino-Krandall wanted youngsters in her community to have an opportunity to be healthy and active, so she did everything she could to make it happen. Through grants she procured, Mangino-Krandall was able to supply equipment and fun activities to keep neighborhood kids physically active. “It’s easier to keep kids active than I would have imagined,” she said. “You can make anything a game.”
