Quotation Tuesday 20!
When I first read this week's Tuesday quote, I had a "duh" moments, which is the opposite of a light-bulb moment. (In a light-bulb moment you realize you've just had a wonderful idea. Instead a "duh" moment is when you realize there is something very obvious that it took you until now to understand.)

“Courage is simply the willingness to be afraid and act anyway.” - Dr. Robert Anthony
In the dictionary in my head, the definitions of courage and bravery are illustrated by knights in battle. In those scenes, a knight was either out there swinging his sword or he was running away. The question of bravery was as simple as which direction he was moving.
In my actual life it's harder to spot the brave people because they're in an office building or a dog park or shopping for fruit.
In this modern life, bravery is not a question of life or death, it's a question life or less-life. We can shy away from our modern-day battles without anyone knowing about it. Not being brave can be our own little secret with ourselves, because any failures that our lack of bravery leads to will look like status quo to anyone that's watching. Nobody knows what we've lost.
Here's something else that was in the dictionary in my head: Being scared equals not being brave, which equals not being able to do something. Being scared of something equals not being able to do it. I didn't ever mean to feel this way, but it crept into my mind over years and solidified itself there because it made a certain kind of sense. But it wasn't true.
Today's quote pointed out that no one but you will know if you're faking bravery. And by faking bravery, you become brave. You can be scared out of your mind and do something anyway. Then you'll be one of the brave ones. Oh!

This is just like a quote a teacher told me a long time ago.
"Feel the fear, and do it anyway"
However, I like the way this quote is worded better. Because it reminds us, who feel failure often, that in the act of "feeling the fear and doing it anyway" we are actually showing courage. It's a very good point.
