Quotation Tuesday 22!
Twenty-Two Quotation Tuesdays, and yikes! This is the final one, and I picked a favorite quote to remind us how time flies.
“How did it get so late so soon? It's night before it's afternoon. December is here before it's June. My goodness how the time has flewn. How did it get so late so soon?” ~Dr. Seuss
Most lines from Dr. Seuss books are silly and basically meaningless, both in context and out of it. But others have a feeling of deepness to them beyond the words. I like this Dr. Seuss passage because it because evokes such a real feeling of melancholy in me despite being so simple.
It makes me feel that twinge of playing outside on dusky summer nights, knowing at any moment my mom would realize how dark it had gotten and call us inside. And of walking out the front doors on the last day of high school. And packing up the car to move away from home. And friends having babies. And caring about people more every year I know them, and wondering how much love I will be able to hold in me twenty years from now.
And it makes me love the moment I'm in.
On this last Quotation Tuesday I wanted to remind you (and myself) that time flies and then it keeps flying. It doesn't slow down ever, so don't think you should wait for the pace to slow down for you to enjoy things, to be yourself, to go after your goals, to tell the truth, to begin. Savor where you are and look forward.

Hello,Brigitte.
Perhaps a listen to Joni Mitchell's "Circle Game " is in order, once again?

Apollonia: Will you help me?
The Kid: No.
Apollonia: Pardon me?
The Kid: Nope... Wanna know why?
Apollonia: Nope.
The Kid: Because you wouldn't pass the initiation.
Apollonia: What initiation?
The Kid: Well, for starters, you have to purify yourself in the waters of Lake Minnetonka.
Apollonia: What?
The Kid: You have to purify yourself in Lake Minnetonka.
[She strips down, and runs towards the lake]
The Kid: Hey! Wait a minute! That's...
[She jumps in. She gets out shivering]
The Kid: Uh, hold it...
Apollonia: What?
The Kid: That ain't Lake Minnetonka.

I can never think of a good quote for Quotation Tuesday and today is no different. I'll go with something overused.
'Parting is such sweet sorrow'
-Shakespeare, I think.
