SAM-e Complete® Monthly Contest – Good Mood Poems

April is National Poetry Month, and to commemorate, we’re asking you to share an original poem about something that puts you in a great mood. These should be original works, and yes, we are looking for creativity. Just construct your best sonnet, limerick or quatrain and leave it as a comment in the box below this post. Your poem can be about anything that makes you smile, whether it is a faithful friend, a favorite fella, or a fancy frock – just tell us in the form of a poem what puts you in a great mood.

10 poets will be chosen to each receive a one month supply of Nature Made SAM-e Complete® along with a special edition mood journal and SAM-e Complete® pen, so get your entries in ASAP. We won’t be awarding any points for rhyme scheme or flowery language, but there are a few things that we will be considering when judging these poems:

SAM-e Complete® is meant to supplement the Sam-e molecules that your body normally produces to help you maintain your healthy mood naturally. It’s not meant to cure or prevent any conditions, including depression. Because of this, comments about depression or other such topics will not be posted or eligible to win.

For full contest rules, be sure to check out the Official Rules page. Good luck!

Extended is your golden arm,
Entangled in my own,
Warmth reaches past my soul and through my eyes,
No longer stagnant, I can get up and go.

Extend your golden arm to me,
Your light flushes my cheeks
and revives the blood inside me,
No longer am I standing still but putting colors in my paint.

Reach out and touch my lips,
Turn them as gold as the sun,
Go further and touch the trees,
Rivers will sparkle like fairy dust forever.

Before your golden touch,
the world was lacking a smile,
Yours has forever turned its tilt.

Reach out once more, I beg.
Towards others,colorblind.
Touch their souls, as you did mine.
Hold their faces and whisper sweet leaves of hope into their ears.

A Great Mood Starts Inside You!

Begin every day in quiet self reflection....
Clear any heavy emotions through mindfulness.
This begins to clear the way.......
for a really great day!

Watch in patient acceptance,
of all that is encountered.
Act when action is called for......
Remain still, when stillness is called for.

Walk, observe, be mindful of your thoughts.
Stretch, breath deeply, be mindful of your body too!
Smile, laugh, be mindful of others around you.
Each day, every day, start within and what's outside will take its own way in inner harmony.

Starting inside, starts a great feeling.....
Only you can spread.

Dry leaves fallen down,
making the 'chil-chil' sound as I walk
Bright yellow golden Sun
Shining all around me

Squirrels playing,birds chirping
Mangoe trees full of fruits
Takes my heart back to India
Fills it with pure joy!

Puppy dogs roll and tumble around,
they make that little squeeky sound:
bouncing merrily as they walk,
cocking their heads when you talk.
Chewing on each others parts;
those sharp little teeth I bet that smarts!!
New and investagating this world;
is that one there a boy or girl?

These little guys are so much fun
I think I'll take home that one!

Warm Thoughts

I'm sitting here, all alone
I've got the warmest thoughts
of you on my mind,
Thoughts of laughter and sunny days
And how I love you in so many ways.

I'm envisioning the beach
With the tide rolling in
Walking with you,
hand-in-hand

As I gaze in your eyes
And my heart begins to melt
I feel the passion of love
As I've never felt

You're all the man I want and more
The only one I'll ever adore
It's so amazing but it feels so right
How thoughts can warm you
On a cold winter's night.

Small-Town Girl

I find myself pulled towards the lights of LA
And those of New York, big city life, glamour
I board the airplane and am carried away
Pleased now to be a new part of the clamor.

In just a few weeks, I'll visit my home
I know I don't have to, but I find it a pity
I went to find myself and my life, but I've grown
Tired of the noise and frenzy of the city.

What makes me happy is freshly mowed lawns
And Southern twangs accenting the voices
Lazy afternoons full of small-town yawns
And a peaceful life, not so full of choices.

At the end of the day, I'm a small-town girl
That's all I need; not the bigger world.

Schultz

He trusts me unconditionally
even when breakfast is late.

He brings back morning air in his coat
to give me the day’s forecast.

He saves weed seeds for the
bed-sheets without me having to ask.

He maintains constant vigil against
terrorists, murderers, evil UPS guys
and marauding squirrels.

He is a smile on four legs.

LOVE WALKING UNDER THE RAIN

SOMETIMES IS JUST UMBELIEVABLE
IRRASIONAL, IF WE MAY SAY
THINKING THAT LIFE IS SO BEAUTIFUL
BUT SO DELICATE IN EVERY WAY.

PEOPLE TELL ME DONT UNDERSTAND
WHEN UNDER THE RAIN, I GO OUT;
WALKING AROUND AND SOMETIMES JUST STAND
UNDER A TREE MAKING NO SOUND.

THEY DONT UNDERSTAND THE SIMPLICITY
ITS TO ME LIKE A THERAPY
MY MOOD CHANGES, MY LIFE IS RENEW
JUST THE SOUND OF THE RAIN CHANGES MY MOOD.

I got in my car feelin' blue
Like my brain was about to unglue
But the radio came on
And I was singin' along
Now I feel like I'm smilin' beaucoup

Baby Giggles

A grin with no teeth
has the strongest bite.
Right in your heart,
Such a lovely sight!

Barks from the boss
Made me frown and wriggle.
They were swept from my mind
With a merry baby giggle!

How can something so small
Beam so much light?
Precious, innocent child,
Such a lovely sight!

The world must be okay,
my soul will be alright.
I just think of baby giggles,
And my mood takes flight!

I've got a lot to be thankful for.
I should not be so down.
It's like I am two people,
one full of life and one that needs to be wound.

How did I get like this?
What did I do wrong?
How do I change this emptiness I feel?
Is the answer in a song?

I'm missing out as I sit stuck inside this shell.
Time is moving on.
I've got to get out of the rut I am in, it is making me not feel so well.

A hug, a warm embrace, a pat on the back will do.
Just to hear my friends and family say a simple "I love you."

Laughing out loud and lots of smiling helps the day seem bright.
I have to continue on like this as day creeps into the night.

Threw my childhood I smiled more than I can remember,
Little things that made me laugh with joy,
Like playing with my brother,
Or helping mom in the kitchen.

Life is good, life is great,
On no particular date,
Just everyday.

Today I enjoy the little things still,
I try to make the best of everyday,
I like to remember the times I had when I was young,
Just as much as the fun I have today,

And to that,

Life is good, life is great,
On no particular date,
Just everyday

The New Man In My Life

I went out this weekend,
found me a new man
he'll love me for me,
the best that he can.
He's a lot of work,
And he keeps me up some nights
I don't even trust him
to walk through my house,
but I think he'll be worth it
in the long run.

Oh yeah, he even gets along my son........

He’s my new puppy

The snows retreated as warm winds blew,
The garden thawed and the ice on the pond disappeared too.
Then a singular voice broke the silence one night.
A tiny creature it was singing with all its might.
I listened and waited.
but day after day,
It sang,
Alone.
A sadness crept in that it might be too late.
Could this amazing creature still find a mate?
And then late on a day with mist in the air,
Was I mistaken or did I hear a pair?
Yes! Three, four, possibly more,
It even sounded crowded on the ponds rocky shore!
And now that spring peeper is a happy little bloke.
Croak! Croak! Croak!
Happy Spring Everyone!! Debbie

Impression

There once was a girl who had lost her way;
bitter and cold, or so they say.

But deep down inside another story did
unfold, that this girl truly did own a heart of gold.

It had come to be heard, that upon many a
time she had opened her heart to everyone
she could find.

But as the world spun madly out of control,
the scowling and hatred had penetrated her
soul.

"What's the use," she said one day, "to open
oneself and be burned at the stake!"

From that point on she no longer hoped, she
did not love, she did not grow.

Until a stranger passed her one day and lit a spark that would forever change her ways.

It wasn't spectacular, brave or daring but
the gesture was kind and even caring.

"What was it?" you ask, that put life back
into this child? Why, it's a gift so simple it could only be called a
SMILE.

Thick black lashes sweeping orbs of liquid umber.
Warm breezes flow from velvet nostrils. Nuzzling hand.
Nickering low.
To share a quite moment with you, courageous steed,
powerful force -
Is surely a gift from your heart and the Heavens!

Fun Friends Family Faith
Might sound corny, but it's what makes my life great.
You should try and you will see that you are just as corny as me!
Hope this brings a smile to your face
Because that is what you need when things are not looking great.
You can not stop what happens, only how you will respond,
So keep these things around you, and they will help you to be strong.
