SAM-e Complete™ Monthly Contest – What’s Your Good Mood Symbol?
This month, we’ll be concentrating on the symbols that represent your good mood. First, take our mood quiz and discover what symbol of nature represents you. What does that symbol say about you? Is there another symbol from nature or your life that represents you? Let us know in the comments section of this post. It can be anything from a kitten to a bowl of cherries, just tell us what you are and why. We’ll be selecting 10 winners from all of the comments posted to each win a free box of SAM-e Complete.
There are a few criteria that we’ll be judging your entries on, so be sure your comment has the following:
1. Creativity – Have fun and think outside the box.
2. How Clearly and Effectively the Entry Message is Conveyed – We’re not looking for the next J.K. Rowling here, but make sure your comment is written more eloquently than what you might put in a text message.
3. Relevance to the Subject of the Contest Blog Post – How well does your symbol represent your mood? This is where you’ll be able to explain “why” you chose the symbol you did.
SAM-e Complete is meant to supplement the Sam-e molecules that your body normally produces to help you maintain your healthy mood naturally. It’s not meant to cure or prevent any conditions, including depression. Because of this, comments about depression or other such topics will not be posted. Even if we can’t approve all the comments we receive, you’ll still be eligible to win whether we post your comment or not.
For full contest rules, be sure to check out the Terms & Conditions page. Good luck!

Don't know if my mood symbol--tree-- is "accurate," but I find it inspiring. Trees are one of my favorite things; have been since I was a kid and spent a lot of time climbing them. Being high up in a tree gave me a sense of omniscience: I could view the goings on of the world and see the larger picture. Something about having that broader vantage point gave me a sense of peace, wonder and "rightness with the world."

To coin from my sweetheart-I would say I'm like a swan... Floating along the pond smooth and elegant and graceful on top - palling like crazy underneath.
I had a car accident once and my son and his wife were coming to pick me up.My daugher in law asked my son if I was "Okay" and he answered"That's the thing about Mom.. her leg could be torn off and she'd be just as cool as a cucumber and say -"I'm fine don't worry - I just need a ride because my car's a little banged up"
I think I Do find myself concerned more than I will outwardly display in some situations.

I am a tree I like to be rooted and give shade to those that need it.My branches are there to reach to all that stand under them and I dont give easily to any weather.

I've watched your commercials many times now and realized that I may benefit greatly from Sam-e. You quiz says I'm like a tree and now I'm taking an Rx everyday to help elevate my mood but today I decided to go to your website and look up information about your product. If this could help me and address all the areas mentioned, I would be a very happy person. I'm wondering why it comes in a formula that's coated also? Is it hard on the stomach? I'm on a fixed income and have to budget so carefully and if I was able to get a sample and try this product for a month and found that it helps me, well then I would have to find a way to budget it into my monthly expenses because frankly I'm not bouncing back as well from emotional distress as I used to. In addition, I have real bad joint pains with arthritis and if this product helped even 10% with that problem, again it would be worth budgeting Sam-E. Thanks so much, Eva Datt

I found that being a tree sure does fit for how I've been feeling. Amazing because although I'm grounded, I can get shook up and it seems like bouncing back takes longer then when I was younger. I'm originally from Chicago, IL and now live in CA, but I relate to the changes of the season. Funny how fall is my favorite season and since the quiz revealed that I'm like a tree, strong and grounded, but as the leaves fall, the changes are getting harder to handle. Seems like instead of focusing on the fact that there still are many leaves on the tree, I've been more focused on the leaves that fell. An Oak tree has deep roots and I used to be as strong and focus on strengths and move on more then focusing on the fallen leaves. I feel I could benefit from Sam-e but I'm on a tight budget but if this product helped me focus on the strong roots and remaining leaves left on the tree, it would be worth budgeting to include Sam-e in my monthly expenses for me. Thanks, Eva

According to the quiz, my good mood symbol was a tree.
However, trees are much more permanent than I feel. I am reminded of the poem about faith that compares it to an ocean when the tide is out.
I am much more like water in that way. The ebb and flow. And sometimes, when there is an ebb, it is hard to realize that the flow will return, even though I know that like the ocean, it will.
As much as I love the ocean, I would like to be more permanent like the tree.

I actually agree, i am an oak tree, i am solid with my roots but my moods change like leaves in different seasons. i have always considered myself like a tree in the wind.

How appropriate that my quiz revealed that I am like the mighty Oak tree.
I have recently started hiking at my local state park (about 2 blocks away from my house). How lucky is that??)
I try to go on my routed 1-1.5 hr hike at least 3 times a week. That along with my new regiment of Sam-e (400mg a day) has tremendously improved my mood. I have 10 year old twins and I work full time outside the home so my life is quite stressful. Thank You.

Im grippy, bitter, complaining all the time, nobody does anything good enough, will sam-e put me back to my jolly old self?

I love same it is very helpful in my living of a healthy lifestyle.

I really like the metaphor of a tree symbol as my mood was described after I took the quiz.I think another symbol for myself could be a sunset or sunrise.I try my hardest to shine through at times, but I can't always do that. My life has storms that I really let get in my way sometimes and I lose sight of the big picture and stop shining for a moment or a while. And maybe this isn't exactly true, but sometimes I feel like I might be 'shining too much and may give others a headache or even hurt peoples eyes alot' because I can-rarely-but I can have my bubbly moments!!
Lauren Sunday, July 05, 2009
I really liked the symbol of a tree used to metaphorically describe my mood.I would also like to suggest my mood sometimes as a sunset/sunrise.I do my best to keep shining no matter what the situation, but I can let my life storms take me away from the big picture for a moment or even a while. But at my best, I can shine to the point of blinding brightness, too.

I haven't always been in a great mood. Who can be? But I have these periods of time where I feel sad and no one can do anything right. I'm still in this state of mind, but it's worse this time. I cry over the stupidest things and I get mad at everyone around me. Even my boss told me I needed to take a chill pill. I don't want to take any mood altering drugs, but something that balances things out to help make me feel better, I wouldn't mind trying that. I don't want to be miserable forever.
diane Monday, July 06, 2009
well im a tree. i love being a tree
my moods are like leaves on a branch when i let go the leaf blows away and a new leaf is ready to grow.
Just like our lives,
live one day in the moment and be happy for what god is given us.

I need something to help me and my body i need all the help i can get

Although my mood symbol was an oak tree I'm tending to lean more towards the water in my swimming pool. Constantly moving, although unforatunately in the same direction. A little rougher more times than others, but calming more as the day turns to night. A little chilly at times, but warms with the sunlight and at night, when all is quiet, so is the water. It entertains others and it can also calm others.

I took the mood test to discover that I am the Sun!! That expresses my personality very well. I am always smiling and upbeat (at least that what people tell me. LOL)I totally agree with the test. Trouble does not worry me because I have a great Trouble Shooter.

The Mood Quiz identified me as a TREE...a Mighty Oak.
While this might be reality, I prefer to think of myself as:
THE SEA...
Ruling forever the far-spread shore.
It laughs, and sobs and cries
And it will forever more.
It's beautiful and magnificient.
It's angry and passionate.
It rushes in and then wanders out,
It's romantic and daring.
It's calm and misleading.
It's constantly on the go, THE SEA
and these are all the qualities I see in ME.

Self evaluation is a hard row to hoe,if you can't do it alone, accept help from others. dont't hold back, let it all hang out,it may be your last chance to get well.
Ect.Ect.Ect. be well!
P.S.It's like helping a tree to grow.

My quiz revealed that I am a river. How true. I've been taking Sam-e for over a month now, and if I forget to take it, I get really irritable. Don't know if I can afford to continue it much longer, but I can vouch for it's effectiveness.
Debra Thursday, July 09, 2009
I am like a "river", raging in a storm but normally flowing calmly, but lately my life is a storm so I therefore am mostly raging! I have taken sam-e for 30 days now and can feel a calm peaceful flow but the last few days storms have hit! I am going to increase dosage and see if I can become a calm river again!
Kevin Thursday, July 09, 2009
I think the Oak Tree is a great comparison to me. I am in middle management and there are times when you have to be solid and stand on your own and then there are days when "all of your leaves just fall off". We have all had those days I'm sure. With a little "watering" and some TLC and we are back to normal.
Ray Thursday, July 09, 2009
The quiz says that I am a tree. That is close. I have a deep rooting in family and southern traditions. My base is strong, to support friends and loved ones when they need support. My branches are firm to resist the storms that try to upset the lives of those close to me, but yet supple enough to allow those loved one to climb and grow to greater heights. My leaves are green and full of life which can become red when someone has wronged others that I care about, and can be mellowed to a soft yellow with the touch or smile from my grandchildren. Now, I am almost bare, waiting for mew life to return and boost me back to the grand mighty oak that I once was. This is what I am expecting from Sam-e
so that I can get back to my loves, my life,
the ones that depend on me to be there.

After taking the mood quiz, I told my husband I'm a "tree" and it wasn't bad! So I decided to print the coupon and go buy a box, only my printer was off line and by the time I got it fixed, I maxed out on the number of times it can be printed, oh well I went out and bought a box anyway! Good luck to me for my husband and kids sake!

The sun is my good mood symbol. I am designed to spread light and warmth to those I love, and even to strangers. But there are days when I simply know I will be more effective hiding behind the clouds, so I let the rain fall. But those days are fewer than the sunny days...and no matter how much rain falls, I will shine again.
Meg Aldridge Wednesday, July 15, 2009
I took the mood test and I was a tree. This is very true of me. I have seen the Sam e ad on tv and have been wanting to try it. I just printed off a coupon so that I can go to the store this weekend to get it. I am looking forward to trying it so I won't be so irritable sometimes around my 3 small kids and husband.
Linda Gulde Saturday, July 18, 2009
My answer was a tree. I am not surprised in the least that is my symbol. As a child I named every tree in our yard, and there were a lot over the years. As I've grown older when I visit I would try to recall the names, it's getting harder every year. As a mother and now grandmother I've always try to instill love of nature and animal. My whole family has been blessed with good health and vitality

Ode to my tree..
Who knew that today I would take on the essence of a tree. Yes, I am tall and strong and my branches are endless. I look to the sky and protect the ground. I am all about me but others too. I am necessary, proud, beautiful, majestic. Yes...this is the ode to my tree...today...just today.
Kelly Ward Thursday, July 23, 2009
According to your quiz I am a tree...I think your description of the tree fits me pretty well..however I'd like to think if I came back in another life as something different it would be a butterfly. I choose the butterfly because to me they are so graceful, beautiful abd carefree, and everytime I see one I am just truly amazed at their beauty and how delicate they are. A butterfly can always put a smile on my face and that is the effect I'd like to have on others as well. So this is why I think a butterfly is the symbol I choose. Hopefully with the help of Sam-E I will be able to feel more carefree and will be able to lift my spirits as well as others!

So I am a tree, based on after filling up your questionaire; well I think you're right about that 'cause I tend to get shaky whenever the storm hits me, but sturdy because I bounce right back up in no time and gracefully sway beautifully. I guess I'm just nature made.
Laura Ashley Saturday, July 25, 2009
So, I am like a tree, down to earth, strong roots, but the leaves do change. I would have to agree, I am always a pretty chill person, and people like to be around me but i do have my days where my mood turns and I kind of get into a bit of a funk.
Alexandra Dvoriantchikova Sunday, July 26, 2009
I am also a tree and yes I do agree with the result. I do tend to change moods a lot like the tree changes. It was very interesting to read about it and relating to it.
Christina Sunday, July 26, 2009
I am a tree - deep roots and laid back, or at least I used to be. I am trying Sam-e as a last resort, I've already bought my box and have high hopes for relief. It is true what they say - everything usually hits all at once. I think that being a tree will help me weather the storm.
Elena Ojeda Monday, July 27, 2009
Yes, I'm definitely like the tree - strong roots, nurturing branches and moods changes like the colors of the leaves. Maybe more like a Chinese Chestnut tree than an Oak tree - I can tolerate a lot but still a little nutty =-)
lkay Monday, July 27, 2009
My symbol is the tree and at first alittle surprised but as I thought about it I realized that is what I should be. I can relate myself to a Live Oak Tree which is a southern symbol of strength-they grow fast and adapt to their enviroment as we should do by maintain a healthy lifestyle, but sometimes needing alittle help along the way. As the branches of a Live Oak Tree spreads and reaches for the sky, I have done the same by reaching for Sam-e.

My symbol is the tree. How true. I am standing there and I know that I can't move.. I stuck in the ground. I get angry because I want to move. It is getting windy and I swaying side to side. My anger and happiness are at war. One wants to go one way and the other wants to go the other way. My leaves fall and then they grow back. Just like when I'm thinking about the worst day in my life my leaves fall and then I look at my children that I now have and my leaves grow again. There is always that one part that knows I can't move. That's how I feel being a stay at home mom struggling with daycare. Will there be a season that I will be happy being that tree?

According to the mood quiz, I am like a river. It must be easy to tell when the water is calm or running rapid in my life. I would also describe myself as a kiwi fruit. From the outside, the kiwi is brown and fuzzy - not the most attractive fruit, but on the inside of that kiwi is an emerald green, delicate and sweet fruit. I'll be the first to admit that I need to start taking better care of myself. Between being a mom, going to school, working two jobs and being married, there isn't much time left for me, and I convey that stress on the outside. I've let myself go. Just like a kiwi, the person on the outside does not look or feel like who I remember to be on the inside.
