Spring Forward – Reset for Daylight Savings Time
Ahhh, springtime, you can almost smell it in the air. Every year, when the clocks move ahead for daylight savings, I feel a sense of rejuvenation. The days actually feel longer, and it can make a huge difference in my mood. Here are some things you can do to “reset” yourself in time for the rejuvenation that springtime can bring.

- Spring Cleaning – Dust, spray and work that elbow grease in every last nook and cranny in your house, car, and anywhere else you think might need the deep clean. You can also take the opportunity to put away your winter jackets and sweaters. Doing this always gives me a sense of satisfaction and an instant mood boost no matter what.
- Herbal Remedy – I’ve never had much of a green thumb, but this year, I’m going to resolve to put in some greenery around my house. I’m thinking that it might be a nice weekend project to plant a mini herb garden or perhaps a couple of tomato plants.
- Get Together (with Friends) – Having a little bit of daylight left at the end of the day after work makes me feel like I can still get a lot accomplished. However, there are definitely those days when nothing sounds better than some iced tea and conversation with friends on a patio or porch. There’s something about the late spring afternoon that is just as about as relaxing as it gets for me.
- Take a Ride – I have fond memories of the whole family taking late afternoon bike rides together. It’s a great chance to see the surroundings in your neighborhood that you might miss if you’re headed down the street with an objective. Who knows? You might even get to meet a new neighbor or get inspired by the world around you.
Springtime shouldn’t be an excuse to do something you normally don’t, but it should certainly make the process a lot easier. What are you taking the time to do this spring with the daylight you saved?
