Start a Good Habit
It’s time to get yourself back on track. Maybe you’ve been slipping a little bit here and there, dipping into your vices and letting it affect you. Unfortunately, slipping off of a positive path to a healthy lifestyle and good mood is an easy thing to do. Maybe you never fell off the wagon, though, and now it is time to reinforce that path you’ve chosen for yourself. One of the ways you can do this is by picking up a habit, a good habit, that is. If you’re used to having mood swings and fluctuating between feelings, then it is high time to look toward happiness. And to be your happiest, all you have to do is get into the groove of feeling happy. One of the best natural mood enhancers you can have is to develop a good habit. Here’s a list of bad habits and better ones you can replace them with, along with some tips on how to make them work for you.

- Exercise > Eating - Eating is easy. It is so easy that most people do it without even thinking about it and don’t realize they are overeating. Some people eat because they are bored, or they are doing activities that make eating easy to do (i.e., watching TV). So the next time you find yourself bored or idle and want to stuff your face just out of habit, make the conscious decision to do some exercise instead. At least drink a glass of water to curb your appetite, but if you can, drop and do push-ups if your sweet tooth starts crying out.
- Writing > Smoking - Smoking isn’t healthy by any means, and can be extremely detrimental to not only your own health, but harmful to those around you, too. Quitting smoking isn’t easy, either, but if you keep your mind occupied enough, you won’t fall victim to temptation as easily. One of the ways you can help to overcome this is by writing. Some people have a hard time quitting cigarettes because they are used to doing something with their hands. Instead of a smoke, put a pen in your hand to be productive.
- Finding the Silver Lining > Complaining - Most people who constantly complain are completely unaware that they are doing it. Finding problems and faults of others and nitpicking them is something we are all capable of, but some take it too far. So instead of saying how lousy things are, try to find the good aspects first. Your friends and family will notice a change for sure, and hopefully, you’ll be in a better mood just by changing your outlook.
Above all, remember that habits are habits because they are activities that you are used to doing. So if you remove one habit from your life, then be sure to replace it with something equally as engaging, but much more positive. It can also take up to 30 days of doing an activity to make it a habit, so be patient with yourself, too. What are some of the ways you can kick your nasty habits and replace them with good ones?

so many people in today’s hectic society never come to realize that ones health should be their top priority.
I can totally relate to the high you get after exercising and besides the physical good…. you get a total psychological boost as well and feel so empowered and energized
