Summertime Made Easier
This was the first official week of summer... so how's it going so far for you?
What are your secrets for making this season easy and enjoyable? I want to hear them! Here are a few of mine:
- I keep frozen strawberries and bananas in the freezer at all times to have instant, healthy, cold dessert options on hand for myself or unexpected company. The strawberries make a perfect sorbet or smoothie when blended with whatever combination of ice and fruit juices I have on hand. And if you didn't know the trick about frozen banana ice cream -- you're in for a real treat! : ) Frozen bananas, with NO OTHER added ingredients, will blend into a creamy, rich dessert with ice cream consistency!
- The trunk of my car is stocked with not only an emergency kit, but also an emergency fun kit. A beach towel, sunglasses, a frisbee and sunblock-wipes so that if I find myself near the ocean I can take advantage of it last minute. A spare swimsuit for the beach or pools. A picnic blanket and book for times I get stuck waiting somewhere and find the perfect shady tree to read under. Cash for buying ice cream from the ice cream truck. When you live in a city as sprawling as Los Angeles, it's important to be ready for last-minute summer activities without having to go home first.
- I keep a slightly different schedule in the hot summer months - physical things get done first thing in the morning before the heat will make me lose motivation to exercise or do outdoor work. I actually really like this change in schedule- it reminds me of having summers off from school when I was a kid.

Sadly my summer is ruined due to work. I'm on a new project that requires me to go to new york city for the next two months. My commute has turned from 30 minutes total to 5+ hours. I'll never have time to do anything when I get home so my weekends will be spent doing nothing but chores. And what makes it worse is now I'm a manager. I can't be a manager, that's a job for adults. I don't want to be an adult.

i don't know.. much too soon to call.
i only share secrets with my significant other.
i find "tree hunting" is fun
the only criteria for perfection is love..
give something or someone your heart and it comes to life..... voila.
clearing schedules here as well and find the idea of firm consistent strenuous activity for breakfast fascinating and totally intriguing
they say the day ends much like the way it starts
the weather has flavor
everyone is born completely with what they require. i choose to wear in person as such -what i need for an 'emergency'
by that i mean more like a pleasant event much like an impromptu celebration or a rare flower blooming
