Am I so easily influenced that watching a video of kitten playing in an empty tissue box can instantly put me in a better mood? Yes. Here are five animal videos that make me happy everytime I watch them. If you don't like cuteness, this is not the blog post for you.
You may have seen some of these already, but if you're like me, cute animal videos don't lose their power no matter how many times you see them. Hint: The audio level and quality can vary wildly on home videos like these, so I'd recommend trying them first with the volume turned low.
First we have "Frostie the Parrot Dancing to Shake Your Tail Feather!" Give him twenty seconds or so to get really going at the beginning. This isn't one of those things where a bird is kind of bouncing to the beat and we call it dancing. Frostie The Parrot has some serious moves.
Second is the video entitled "Surprised Kitty". The title is misleading. I don't think that kitten is really surprised at all. He looks more like a ninja.
Third, we have "Gizmo the Shitzu Puppy." Gizmo is playing with his own reflection in a mirror, getting more and more excited until it all culminates in what apparenly is his first bark ever. I can't put my finger on why I like this one so much. I think it's the way Gizmo seems to almost trip over his own fuzziness. And the growling that sounds like a tiny motorcycle. And the waving at himself with his little paw.
The next video is "Leo's Blanket Trick." Leo is a free-flight Sun Conure, and he has learned to wrap himself, burrito-style, using a napkin like a little blanket. I especially like how when he's finished, he gives a few little leg kicks, like he is super pleased with himself.
And finally, there's always "The Amazing Skidboot" There's a good chance you've seen SkidBoot on TV. This clip from Texas Country Reporter about 3 years ago tells the story of Skidboot the cattle dog. When I saw it on TV for the first time, I admit, I teared up a little at the end. Since that time, sadly, Skidboot has passed away. But what an amazing life he had!

I stop by everyday but don’t always have time for a comment. But today I had to say something. I’m used to your vid’s which I love but the choice of Happy Animal Video Roundup could not be better. Although the surprised kitty one I have to agree with you, the kitty does not look surprised it looks more like it is ready to attack, thus ninja is a very good description. Also that one even made national news thus I had seen it several times. But the others I had not seen, thus, yes they made me smile, thus the good mood, thus the comment.
So thanks for finding and posting all of them. I’ll be looking for more of your video roundup in the future.
