Time for Starting Something

This time of year is just perfect for new beginnings. Daylight savings is behind us, Easter and spring break have passed, and summer is still not quite a reality. It's the perfect time for starting something new. Plant seeds now that will become something good by the end of summer!

You could take that idea quite literally and plant actual seeds. You don't have to be a master gardener to grow a bit of fresh produce at home; you don't even need a yard! Anyone can grow tomatoes, herbs,  greens or sweet peas, even if all you've got to offer as a garden plot is a large pot in a sunny window. I'll get a bit more into that idea tomorrow.

Or how about starting a journal? You could start writing a bit each day from real life, then let your imagination start to take over and add elements of fiction. If you stick with it and write every day, you could have a finished book by the end of the year! If you're not much of a writer, start off with a scrap-book type journal. Collect photos, ticket stubs or other little keepsakes of memorable moments.

And because summer (swimsuit weather) is on the way, now is also a great time to get started on a new exercise routine. Start small - a ten minute walk around the block every morning is better than nothing! Think of it as planting a seed. Pretty soon the ten minute walk will become more and more enjoyable, and easily turn into 15, 20, then 30 minutes. You'll be feeling and looking better by the time summer arrives.

I need to start excercising again. Working out just 30 minutes a day made me feel so much better.

May I suggest each and everyone remember that April 18 is a very important day. Celebrate my birth with me and about three others. Let's get it started!

Hello,Brigitte.
I am combining both pieces of advice. I am planting my seeds well away from my house, so I have a long walk to water or harvest them!
