Well Done, Daydreamers
I'm working at my desk. A bug hits the window and I look up.
On the neighbor's wall, a shadow of a bird lands on the shadow of a branch. I wonder if birds are ever afraid when they're flying. I wonder if they ever think, no no, I've gone too high. I'm going too fast.
And do they remember their mothers?

I'm going home to Nebraska for Easter. It's strange driving a rental car in your home town. What if I got there, and all they had at the car rental place was an SUV with huge spinning rims? What if I had to drive that to my town? I couldn't explain to every person in the entire town that I hadn't chosen it. People would really think I had changed.
I tell myself that I need to get back to work.
But contrary to what you may have been told about daydreaming being lazy and a waste of time, daydreaming is actually good for your memory. Professionals in fields ranging from sports, to performance art, to mathmeticians have all sworn by the positive results they see after spending time daydreaming about their area of expertise. On the other hand, multitasking and staying constantly busy can actually have a negative effect on your memory. So let your mind wander now and then.

I daydream all the time. If not I'd be poking my eyes out at work :P

You just posted a blog on your boss’s web site that you were daydreaming when you should have been working :)

Hello,Brigitte.
For me,daydreaming allows me to plan and think about future possibilities. Whether or not I act upon my daydreams, is another mater.

I think daydreaming is a bit different than focused visualization, which can be quite effective in helping to achieve goals.

existence which is said to be compromised of the sum of our lives -is only a subtle living extension of our intrinsic being within ourselves.
when we pay attention to our environment and see how this fragment of our true nature is very much integrated -and is always in constant communication with us when we allow the mind to be at ease and at home with itself.....
and know without measure of reason nor absolute resolve that the magic happens as it always has.
as the unexpected surprise abruptly reorients our perspective,
and the shadows fascinate us with the notion of mystery behind the source of the silhouette
our essence at this moment becomes timeless
as we soar with courage through the heavens
thus leaving our fear and trepidations
upon a leap of faith
a flight only fettered by breathe
with an understanding that we shall land as effortlessly with the levity of joy and the firm resolve of the ground meeting us in with it's gentle embrace beneath
the uncertainty of thoughts settled in this clarity of awareness
as we float together amidst a waking dream
yes -mother
we're hungry still
but we are no longer lost

Like when I was daydreaming the other day and drove through a red light .... and then I started to day dream about what could have happened and just about ran over someone in a cross walk ....... I am a safe driver, really ... honest.

Yeah, but I know from my experience that daydreaming can get out of hand as well. I honestly over-do it, but I just can't help it. And my memory is really bad, too... ://
