What Halloween Taught Me About Being in a Good Mood
Halloween is a time for acting like a kid again, having fun, dressing up and pretending to be something spooky or silly. Here's what I learned about being in a good mood from years of fun Halloweens.

Dress the Part – One of my favorite aspects of Halloween is that you can dress up in a way that is completely different than the person you normally are. It’s a great chance to let loose and give in to the things you find silly or weird. I like to get creative with my costumes, and I always enjoy getting reactions from people when they see me in an outfit that isn’t what they’re used to. Getting out of your comfort zone is also a great way to remind yourself that life isn’t so serious all the time, and that’s something that can put a smile on your face.
Indulge in the Sweet Life – Make no mistake about All Hallows’ Eve. It’s a chance to indulge in something sweet. It’s one of the few days out of the year that you can feed your sweet tooth, so you might as well really enjoy it. After all, chocolate can be a great way to get into a good mood.
Get Spooked – Get your friends and family together and check out a scary movie. It’ll bring you closer…literally. Or if you’re feeling a little more adventurous, you could go to a haunted house. It’s one of my favorite Halloween activities. You get your adrenaline flowing, and since you know it’s not real, you’ll be laughing hysterically when it’s all over.
Celebrate for Celebration’s Sake – Halloween is a holiday that really isn’t meant to do anything except give people a chance to celebrate. Take a break from the daily grind and throw a party to let loose. You’ll get a chance to bond with friends and dance the night away – something you can’t deny will give you a mood boost.
What about Halloween makes you smile?
