What Makes You Come Alive?

“Don’t ask yourself what the world needs, ask yourself what makes you come alive. And then go and do that. Because what the world needs is people who are alive.” ~Howard Thurman

Personally speaking, I tend to think too much. Over thinking scenarios and how I should allocate my energy creatively. The thing is, the more I think about how I should do something, the harder it becomes.

Writing for the Good Mood Blog for example. If I over think about what types of content will be a good fit for this blog, it will be a struggle to come up with content.

If I just slightly shift the way I view this project, by looking at it from a perspective of “what makes me come alive?” or “what would make me happy to write about?” then writing becomes a breeze. Ideas come easily, and I can just be established in this creative flow.

By following our hearts and going with what it inspires us to do, not only will the process be easier and more enjoyable for us, the things we produce will provide more value to people—because there’s more “heart,” dedication and authenticity in it.

So, follow your heart. Follow your bliss. Follow your joy. Once you do that, you can witness as you become a vessel for an abundant of creative ideas and inspiration.

Observe yourself, listen to your heart. What activities make your heart sing? Follow it. In the engagement of activities that inspires you, not only will you be living with more joy, but you will also likely inspire those around you to follow their own bliss.

Life is good.

What makes you come alive?
