What’s IN for 2010
2010 is here, and that means things will be changing. I’m starting the year off with a smile on my face and a bright outlook. So what are some of the things that will be IN for 2010? I’ve done some research on the web and found some exciting new things to look forward to.

Food
- Bacon – Though it’s not the best food for you, there’s something about bacon that reminds me of breakfast at home. It’s also making a big splash on the web lately, as it seems to be that ingredient that can alter any dish, even chocolate.
- Exotic Citrus – Nothing quite says “zest” like the zing of citrus. Fruits like pineapple, grapefruit and lime can add flair to any food.
- Good-for-you-Foods – This might seem like a vague trend, but the idea is that being healthy is very IN in 2010. Good for you foods are great on any list, and even made the Winter Fancy Food Show’s top 5 food trends .
Exercise
- Zumba – Part dancing, part fun, all exercise. 2010 is a time that health is becoming more prevalent, and so it takes something like Zumba to inspire the masses. This aerobic exercise will have you out of your seat and moving in no time.
- Exergaming – Technology is allowing us to find new ways of working out. And one of those ways is by combining the fun of video games with exercise . It’s a great way for kids and parents alike to enjoy gaming and exercise together.
- Cost-Conscious Workouts – You don’t need a gym to stay healthy. There are plenty of exercises that you can do at home on your own, or with a group. Don’t let the economy stop you from being your best, and remember exercise doesn’t have to seem like exercise.
Travel
- Iceland – No, it isn’t a giant, Polar Bear covered iceberg somewhere close to the North Pole. Iceland is actually a beautiful and friendly place. Might just be the perfect getaway.
- Staycations – I’ve written about staycations before, and 2010 might prove to be a great year to spend time off at home, rather than going out and breaking the bank.
- Backpacking – Going the vagabond route and taking a backpacking trip can not only be a healthy and exhilarating way to journey, but it can be quite cost effective as well.
Now, I’m no psychic, so I could be completely wrong about any of this. I do know, however, that I’m excited about 2010! A new year is a great time to get into a great mood.

Hello,Brigitte. I have heard many grocers pushing other citrus fruit,in an attempt to have people discover all of the varieties. Whether kiwifruit aid make a hit???
I think for exercise, what ever really gives you result,s can be your own personal "in".
I get more pleasure out of local trips to be my "vacation". There is something new and unexpected to be discovered,by merely taking the time to go out and be curious.

Hey Lisa,
I’m going to apologize for those who comment and think that it is a Brigitte blog.
I have to agree with them though, great blog.
I always enjoy blogs of interesting tips. Now some tips are quite obvious and others may not be, but they are all reminders of what we should or could be doing.
So thanks for the great blog and great information. I’ll be looking forward to reading more of your ideas
