Work With What You've Got
Hey, Happy Monday! And time has really flown -- we're coming up on my last few days as Good Mood Blogger. June 30th will be my last post! But I'll save the sentimentality and sappy good-bye's for Wednesday. ; )
Over the past six months I've talked about lots of ways to cheer yourself up, energize, organize, and change perspective. Today I wanted to point out the usefulness of taking advantage of the mood you're in.
Sometimes, the best way of changing your mood is to work through it productively... to make the most of it. You know yourself. You know which of your moods are good for mindless cleaning, and which work well for big-picture thinking and goal setting, or for being creative, cleaning out your inbox, organizing the junk drawer, deciding what you're going to do with your life, cooking enough muffins to freeze and last for months.
I know that for me, if I'm feeling antsy and restless but I need to edit a video, rather than park myself in front of the computer and fight to focus on the editing software for hours, I'll get more done in the big picture if I take a 30 minute power walk first, and then tackle the editing.
Take note of which of your moods serve you best in which kind of situations. If you seem to be in the entirely wrong mood for what you need to get done, stop fighting yourself and try skipping to something else on your to-do list that your mood will fit better with. Let no mood go to waste!

I sure hope that's not Maddy in the picture, trying to keep her nose above water.

Hello,Brigitte. Though we will miss you on this forum, I rejoice in the fact that you do have your own blog page, and You Tube presence. Like many of your followers, I will make do with those, as they keep my spirit lifted.
